Steve Coulson

Stephen (Steve) J. COULSON has worked on the terrestrial invertebrate fauna of the Arctic since 1991. After completing his Ph.D. studies at the University of Leeds (U.K.), Steve held positions at Liverpool John Moores University (U.K.) and University of Oslo (Norway). From 2005 he has worked at the University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS) in Longyearbyen, Svalbard, leading research, field work, and educating students in Arctic ecology. Now, he works at Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences,Uppsala,Sweden. During this period Coulson has developed a wide international network of Arctic scientists and has published 82 peer-reviewed papers focussing on the ecology, biogeography, and taxonomy of Arctic invertebrates. He has been active on working groups including representing Norway on the International Arctic Science Committee.
